Meet Dr. Ro
Founder and CEO
Dr. Royond Patrick Hendrix is a leader shaped by classrooms, communities, and a deep belief that education should work for every child—not just the ones who fit the system easily.
Her journey began in public education, where she served as a special education teacher, learning early that labels never tell the whole story. In those classrooms, she witnessed brilliance that was often overlooked, families who needed advocacy more than jargon, and educators who wanted to do better but lacked the tools, support, or permission to lead boldly. Those experiences didn’t harden her—they clarified her purpose.
For nearly three decades, Dr. Ro has moved through Education not as a climber, but as a builder—serving as a teacher, campus leader, district administrator, adjunct professor, dissertation committee member, and eventually a consultant trusted by schools, universities and organizations navigating change. Each role deepened her understanding of how systems succeed or fail, and how leadership rooted in empathy, strategy, and courage can transform outcomes.
That calling led her to found DREAM Education Consulting, a firm grounded in the belief that leadership is not positional—it’s purposeful. Through DREAM, Dr. Ro partners with districts, universities, and organizations to develop leaders, strengthen special education practices, and reimagine professional learning in ways that are practical, human, and sustainable. She brings a rare blend of scholarship and soul to her work. She speaks plainly, leads authentically, and challenges institutions to move beyond compliance toward impact. Her leadership philosophy is clear: honor lived experience, invest in people, and never confuse tradition with effectiveness.
At her core, Dr. Ro is an advocate—for students who deserve dignity, for educators who deserve development, and for leaders who are willing to do the inner work required to lead others well. Her story is not about titles. It’s about purpose in motion.
Dr. Ro has been recognized by many organizations for her special education advocacy, leadership development efforts and spearheading purposeful partnerships for collective community impact. Her service extends beyond guiding the development of DREAM Education. As a musician, she has been a member of several music ensembles in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, Chicago and Minnesota and is currently a solo clarinetist with the Mesquite Community Band in Mesquite, Texas. She is an affiliate and member of several organizations serving communities, including Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority, Incorporated, Continental Societies, Incorporated, Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society in Education and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Her greatest accomplishments are her adult children, Michael, Jr. and Mia Royond.
